the tree onion grows from a the main bulb on top of a fairly thik stem, where several small onions grow. The plant is usualy about 18inches or close to half a meter high the small onions are difficult to handle perhaps these are just the seeds for a new crop.

they are also called multipler onions or walking onions.these unique perennial heirloom onions form clusters of very small bublets or sets on the tips of the leafstalks.an established plant resembles a clump of green scallions. harvest sweet pungent scallions in spring and small pickling onions topsets in summer,leaving a few to reseed for a hardy permanent scallion bed. good luck on your growing
