When is the last time you cleaned the dust from the back and inside of the computer?

Run a diagnosis on your PC. Turn your screen saver off and make sure no other programs are running internally in your computer except the essential ones like virus scanners and firewalls. Scan your HD for viruses, spyware, and disk errors, then defragment your HD. Restart your PC and open Task Manager and check your CPU usage. If the CPU usage is at 100%, the PC is clogging up with too much data (either by installing too many programs or your HD disk space is close to full) and you may need to shut down/uninstall some programs and/or delete files to speed up your PC.

If all else fails, then your PC may be reaching its limit. In that case, backup all your files and stock up on a new PC.

You not only need to check if your computer is full of dust and running too hot but reduce # of programmes running. I never use a screensaver because it uses up RAM

You probably have not cleaned up the junk that accumulates on the computer. Download CCleaner which will do this for you (It's free). Also Defrag

I noticed something similar a couple days ago, this computer is left on for days and days at a time and the internet explorer was really slow. I restarted it and it worked fine. I'd suggest shuting down your computer for a minute or 2, then restart it and see what it does.

Check for the dust. If it built up, clean it. It should help.
