What are your interest? What are your favorite subjects? What are you good at? What interest or hobbies of yours can be developed into a meaningful career? What kind of personality do you have? Do you like bening indoors/ outdoors? Do you work well with others? Do you like to work alone? What kind of work habits do you have? What kind of learning style do you have? Are you willing to learn on the job? Or do you want to attend college? Uniform? Business attire? Jeans? Does money matter? Major company or mom and pop business?

These are just a few questions that you need too ask yourself? This will help you decide.

I drive a fork lift so I work on my own, I wear jeans, I am mainly indoors, and I make good money. I also had on the job training. But I sure wish I could be an X-ray tech or Pharmacist. Oh, well.

You have to decide what interests you have and what you would enjoy doing.

You might want to take a personality test that will help you determine what field you will excel in. There are lots of these sorts of tests you can find on the internet or go to your guidance counselor at school.

Then I would suggest you try volunteering or do an internship in the field you would like pursue. This way you will get a hands-on and inside view of what it is like in that business before you invest money in college/education.

Good luck.

Think of what you would like to do, what skills you have, and what opportunities there are.

There are career skill tests that might help.

People do change careers from time to time, but whatever you do, you'll be spending a lot of time doing it, so take your best shot.

Good luck! Look at choosing as exciting and not frightening, or a chore.

1) try to look for employment that resembles things that you like to do when not working. for example I like people, food and driving, have for years. coincidentally I found myself representing a major food company as an travelling salesman/account manager, what a fit.

2) listen to your piers. when the food account management job came up, so did the opportunity to work for the government in the passport office. better pay, dealing with people, but stuck inside all day long. My best friend at the time told me to go for the sales job. He obvioiusly made a more objective decision because he was not emotionally tied to the process as I was.

If you like numbers you should be an accountant or work for the bank.

Look at your interests, personality, and what you would like to do with your spare time. That's how I chose to be a doctor.
