Excellent question!

I have been saying that for a long time. If you compare what W has been doing to the Nazi party as Hitler took power in the 30s, it is a very scary parallel.

Just the fact alone that he screens everyone that goes into his rallys just like Hitler did makes you take a closer look. That is SO un-american. So un-democratic to pander to a select few instead of the masses.

I see a lot of fascism in both parties. Nationalism is not a bad thing to have. The Yanks Human Rights records aren't horrible, America as a whole has their scapegoats, yours is the Republican party, having a strong military is not a bad thing, show me this supposed sexism, mass media is not controlled, national security is a must, they flew planes into American buildings, religion and ruling elite are not as closely tied as some think, power of corporations is not protected, labour has been going down in the states for some time now, there are still a great amount of intellectuals and art, both sides have an obsession with crime and punishment, cronyism is everywhere, no proof that the elections were fraudulent. That took a long time.

Where did you get these characteristics? If they are true, then there are certainly a lot of these characteristics that the Republicans are displaying. Especially numbers 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 13, and 14.

Lawrence Britt first wrote that list back in the 1960's

The interesting thing about it is how timeless the 14 points are. In the 60 when Vietnam protests were common Strong Nationalism was far from the average. Yet Britt saw these signs in other Nations that had followed the path to fascism.

I have pro totalitarian Fascist dictatorship ever since I was in the USMC. Forget democracy run this nation like the Marines run bootcamp.

1. Both parties
2. Democrats.
3. Both.
4. Republicans
5. Neither.
6. ALL Democrats with exception of Fox.
7. Republicans.
8. Both (Republicans and Christianity, Democrats and Liberalism (yes, it's a religion)).
9. Republicans.
10. Both.
11. Neither.
12. Republicans.
13. Both.
14. Democrats. (Bush won both legally, look up the laws. Gore broke the law, so did Kennedy in 60).

According to these characteristics, if looked at objectively, both parties have the potential to go too far. This is why it is important to elect people that are not on the extremes of either side.

How many do you have to meet to be a fascist party?

2006-08-25 15:59:33 · answer #7 · answered by Pitchow! 7 · 2 1

Nope, not even close. Those are vague points, and most are not true, either of fascism or of the Republican party.

It is intellectual dishonesty of the basest sort to start a study by first drawing the conclusion, then shaping it to fit one's preconceptions, like the mental midget who did this list.

The funny thing is that it misses most of the worst aspects of fascism, and it distorts truth and reality in order to paint the Reps as fascist.

Anybody who respects truth would see that most of these points do NOT describe Bush or the Reps in any way, and are based on distortions of facts or complete fabrication (lying).

Good post. Yes, it's becoming that way. All we need to go over the edge is a terrorist attack close to election time, the suspension of the election and imposition of martial law. These insane ideas have been floated by a few Bush appointees in high places in 2004 and 2005.
