The Beatles. Their strengths were that they took black-based rock and fused it with just about every type of popular music there is, including country, classical, psychodelic, Indian, English, folk, and heck, you name it. For a long time, their name was synonymous with innovation, creativity, fusion, popularity, and were at the forefront of the counter-cultural revolution of the late '60s. They gave rock a little more political and intellectual edge, more than just something to dance with. In the history of modern music, it would be very difficult to find a band that has had this much influence in the creative music field, or on the influence it has had in society, regardless if one likes their music or not. But chances are regardless of who you are and what age you are or where you are from in the world, you probably will have heard a song or two from the Beatles and would probably have a very favorable opinion of them.

My Prefference Would Be With The Doors Or Led Zepplen But That's Not The Question. So It Would Have To Be The Beatles Although I'm Not A Great Fan.
They're The Ones Who Had the Most Widespread Fame In Many Many Other Countries And LAnguages and Teh Once Who Have Influenced The Most People In A Positive Way.

The Beatles,
Their songs are timeless. Sgt. Pepper's Lonley Heart's Club Band is, to this day, one of the top 5 best selling albums in the world.

Red hot chili peppers:
think about it: they managed to stay in business for half thier lives (since early 80's) and every album gets better and better. they have gotten raving reviews on stadium arcadium, which is thier latest album. they always improve upon themseves and i dont think there is one person out there who hasnt heard the song under the bridge or scar tissue that has a radio. the lyricist/singer anthony kiedis influences the lyrics based on his life experiences and the experiences of the rest of the members. the songs are full of meaning, not like other songs that have the chorus repeat 20 times and thats about it. not only that the bassist and one of the founding members, flea, has very famous bass riffs and can play the trumpet too in some of the peppers's songs. each band member influences thier struggles and happiness and anger and sadness in each instrument they use, whether its the drums or their voice or their mind. every time i listen i feel so much emotion being given to me like they really care about thier music. i feel very passionate about them. they are also very productive: they are releasing 7 singles off stadium arcadium, and have already released dani california and tell me baby and soon to come is snow. each song has a different stroy and many allusions to the current world and its problems. its not a sociopolitical band. but a band that knows reality the harshness of life and is able to masterfully portray it in their music. rock on, peppers, rock on!

There can't be any ONE best of all time! It's just not possible, Music changes, time changes and opinions change. But I think The Beatles are considered by most people to be one of the best! (I obviously like GreenDay the best right now!)

The Eagles-- They were an awesome band in there day.The music and the lyrics were so unique. When an Eagles song came on you instantly knew who they were. And it's obvious that they are a great Band or people wouldn't pay so much to see them in concert.

Led Zeppelin
Because they didn't just rock, they were very talented musicians as well. Also, because they influenced so many other bands.
