The wording of your question points in the direction of this being the case, by which I mean to point out that the inclusion of 'personal' before 'ideals' is an indicator of self-awareness. However, it begets the question of the existence of ideals without personal involvement, a whole other box of frogs indeed.
Self-awareness is the foundation of ego. It is when we understand the interconnectedness of all things, on a fundamental level, that we may transcend the self, and as such the ego. This awareness must be developed by careful study of the self before we may understand the broader perspective...

Only 'personal ideas' that came from an outside source would be an exention of the ego. If it was your personal idea that had no coersion what so ever that would extend from the super ego.

It all matters on your defintion of a personal idea is. For instance if you had an idea of abortion is either good or bad, but that idea was formuated from propaganda from one side or the other the idea would be an exention of the ego. If you knew that abortion was good or bad without hearing about any abortion debates then that idea would have come from your super ego.

If you believe that your personal ideas come from inside you and only inside you it would be impossible for a personal idea to come from the ego since your ego is effected by the outside world. If you beleive that your personal ideas are things that come about by taking in knowledge and applying that knowledge to your ideas that you then generate then it is possible to have that idea be an extention of the ego.
