The question "Whose idea was it to start swinging?" was asked to almost 600 couples. The results:
She brought it up 33%
He brought it up 58%
It's been so long we can't remember 5%
I'm a single swinger so it doesn't matter 4%
So you can see, contrary to popular cultural belief and what the media tells you, women do think about it and are in at least 1/3 of the couples the initiator. Swinging is not a kinky male fantasy that he coerces an innocent woman into. Swinging only works when both people in the couple want to do it. And for them, it works very well. The women that swing do so of their own accord and are in no way some victim of male porn fantasies.
Over and over I am just amazed at the negative comments from some about swingers and swinging when the people saying them have no firsthand knowledge of swinging and they have based their opinions on hearsay, sensationalistic "special reports" on the news, etc. I respect everyone's opinion as long as they have based it on fact and can successfully argue it without letting their own prejudices and emotions get in the way. Remember high school debate?
I respect the ones that say things to the effect of "I couldn't do it because I know I'd be jealous." These people do not make a judgement of others, but rather just state that it is not for them.
The ones that get me are the "No, it's wrong, you'd only do this if your relationship was in trouble, if you love someone why would you want to share them, etc."
Please, find out what you are talking about before you talk about it. It's fine to say "it's not for me" but it's not okay to judge others for doing something that has no effect on your life whatsoever.

It depends on how sexually "open" your way of thinking is. Some women do I'm sure but they might never ever voice it. Others do and will do so far as to mention it to thier spouse. Men are voyeuristic by nature so swinging would be an opportunity to "see" something new. Why do you think they watch porn?

Personally speaking, I certainly did when I was married to my last husband. Only because I wasn't in love with him and I had no romantic or intimate feelings for him. Sex was limited and not enjoyable for me, anyway.
But now, with my bf that I am head over heels in love with and our sex life is absolutely fantastic---NEVER, never, would I even consider swinging. No way.

There are just as many men brought into "the lifestyle" by their women as there are women brought in by their men.

its normal, it just depends on the person and how comfortable she is with the subject. It works for some and not for others.
