If I understand your question, you cannot sell food, drinks or candy. I am going to have to assume you are running a student store for college students. If so, here are my suggestions:
1. Think about what students need or would like to have in their dorm rooms or rental units.
*Posters, weird lamps, used amps, unusual furniture, used computers, computer paper, printer ink cartridges, books, magazines, D VD movies, CD's.
*School hats, sweaters, and t-shirts (Must be approved by the University to be sure there are no knock-offs)
*You could set up an apartment rental guide on a computer in your store and charge a fee for people to advertise on your site.
*You could do the same for auto sales....some students just want a junker to get them around for a few years and then pass it on to someone else.
] Take some time to think about what you would like to be able to have in your everyday life as a student and go for it. In fact make up some questionairs for suggestions and hand them out to your customers and if they return them filled in, give them a discount on their next purchase.

Uh who put you incharge of the store, when you don't know math. Quick lesson candy, food and drinks are 3 things.
On a serious note.

Well, school supplies are up there on the list. You can also sell little fun trinket type things ( Unique but cheap items- the kind you would normally find in gift shops, may go over well. ), clothing (especially the kind with the school name in it), and even shot glasses.I would also recommend electronics but make sure you have good security to prevent shoplifting. Ipods and their accessories, headphones, memory cards, prepaid phones etc. are all in demand. Personal hygiene products such as deodorant, wet wipes, lip gloss, hairbrushes, combs, etc. are good too.

Ummm...if it's a student store, why not notebooks, computer disks, pens, pencils, paper, paperclips, staplers, highlighters, post-it notes, calculators, study guides, backpacks, pencil cases, pencil sharpeners, protractors, rulers, day planners, PDAs, index cards, folders, erasers, book covers, binders, computer software, blank cds, permanent markers, sticky labels, report covers, page covers, and anything else that's required at the nearby school.

if your a girl, getting into Mark (an affiliate of Avon) might be a good idea. I used to be a representative, and the sales can be very lucrative especially if youre in a school setting.
