I've heard its a good job. You can set your own hours and pays good too. Is it easy??? its prob like any other career, you have your ups and downs, good and bad days. If this is a career you plan on seeking out you should talk to someone who has been in the profression in a few years. Good Luck with whatever you do!

I don't think it's easy.

You have to get expensive insurance and deal with physically and mentally ill people some of whom will want to treat you as a psychologist or prostitute. It is also very demanding physically, on the hands and wrists, and if they don't build their strength with care, many MTs get repetitive stress injury to their wrists.

The pay is like most jobs. If you are great at it and position yourself well within an appropriate market, you can earn good money. A very good one in my city charges $60/hour Canadian ( about $54 US ) but I don't know how high his operating costs are.

I've considered it as an occupation because I have very sensitive hands. I can feel the trouble spots easily when I give friends massages. But, I chose not to pursue it because I don't think I'd be physically strong enough, and I don't want to deal with hurt and fearful people all day. I don't think it is a job you should pursue for easy money.

It is a exelent job because not only do you help people but you can make alot of money doing it too. You could go to school in order to get a sertifcate. As long as you have good breath, strong hands and a good personality you will go a long way. Massage therapists alos make good friends :)

i have heard they pay well, plus your doing a good thing for people. i have 7 years of amature massageing under my belt and i'd have to say that i like it alot and plus i get some killer tips(money not advice). there was only one time i would have rather of avoided a massage, it was when i had to massage this guy who had a new tattoo on the back of his neck and it was REALLY infected, i would describe it but i't would probibly result in ban from the sight. any way i also have a relitive with that job and he seems pretty happy with it too.

so i'd say go for it!

One of the nurses I work with does that on the side. She went to school and became certified fairly quickly & she enjoys it very much. It pays very nicely too....something along the lines of a dollar per minute on average. At least that's what she charges & it's well worth it from the perspective of having received several massages while she was in school.

Shyah you get paid good.

Being that I've never BEEN a massage therapist, I'm going to be shallow and say yes, it is easy.

You need to go to school for a couple years and learn anatomy as well as massage techniques. It can pay pretty good, especially if you have a client base and can work on your own.

It's a good job but not one you can do effectively long term, Your wrists and hands will give out. Sometimes you can get paid well, other places not so much.
