After 35 years of controlled use, no criminal record ever and no escalation to hard drugs and no discernible side-effects other than a smile - I would have say that I will just keep on smiling!

It's stupid, but it might decrease the amount of illegal use of drugs and violence from drugs. Because it is legal (if it does become legal), people will be able to shop around and get cheap prices. If dealing pot is not so secretive, there should be less violence. Even the government may be able to deal pot.

But pot smoking will lead more people to try the "next" drug, like ecstacy. Ecstacy will become more like pot in its prevalence and usage. Also, pot will lead to more accidents and deaths, because more people (who wouldn't have smoked beforehand) will smoke it.

The good things about marijuana is that it can relax someone or take away their pain when they are in a hospital. It should be legalized only in hospitals using injections and not for smoking (bongs, joints, etc.), because that leads to cancer.

You will have a lot of druged out Americans headed your way, if that passes, and maybe a lot of Mexicans to. Good luck from a U.S. citizen. P.S. and the politicians down here will have a hissy fit.

Canada is about a century ahead of the USA, as are the socialist democracies of Northern Europe.
