Sometimes I start Internet Explorer and instead of the homepage, it starts up the net with "about:error". Please help! How do I get it to keep the homepage?

First determine what page you would like as a home page. To to Tools on your menu bar. Tools > Internet Options > Homepage. Type in the www address of the page you want as your homepage. Delete all cookies, delete your files and clear your history.

Now go on line and download AdAware and Spybot and clean-up your computer. McAfee and Norton also have free virus scans, do one of those.

After all that you should be OK. Hope this helps and good luck.

Either the site you're trying to connect to isn't working, you're not on the internet or you have spyware. Try changing the homepage to something reliable like Google/Yahoo's homepage. If it still does it ping the server (from DOS type ping google.com) if no reply your internet connection is flaky. If a ping reply comes back and the page doesn't load then test for spyware.

You have a virus/spyware. Use "Hijack This" to remove it.
