That happens to me sometimes. I don't know what it is. Maybe there's a button on the keyboard that does that.
You know how if you click an icon once, it changes the color? Just do that, and then hit enter. It will launch whatever shortcut you selected.

try clicking the right button, if it works, then go to mouse properties and swicth buttons back, they have been changed to left handed

This can happen, for example, if you are using "sticky Keys" which is a accessibility option.
Check and make sure that you ALT- key is not depressed.
