Say that the blue states broke off from the red states in a peaceful manner.

How would both sides be affected?
Which region would come out on top?

it depends on whether or not finances would be split evenly if blue had all the rich states and red had no money in their states, then people would move to blue causing overcrowding and eventually red would become derilict.

The Blue States live off the Red States.
Blue States could not survive without the Red States.

Well, we'd start by drowning eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. That would get rid of most of the gays and the liberals. Then California, which hasn't had the decency to drop into the ocean yet on its own.

Those are the only blue states with any significant population. The rest will come into line when they realize there is only one right way.
