Whats the wire used to connect the guitar to the amp called??

The plug end is called a Jack, but for the life of me, I cannot remember what the actual cable is called. My dad refers to it as the guitar jack cable.

I just call it a "cord"....

Oh yeah, and mine was free with the guitar. You could probably buy anything that looks like what you want and it will work.
