If you are an iPod user: 1 GB is actually more like 800 MB. Do not despair, though, as this is roughly equal to 255 songs, plus some good podcasts.

15000 songs on 30 GIGS
Wich tells us that you could have 500 songs on 1 GIG.

On average; based on 3.5 mins/song & 64 Kbits/s WMA (for better quality 128 Kbits/s or more recommended)

But a CD has 192Kbits/s so and the average song on the internet for example is 128Kbit/s so you could say depending of the quality 350-500 per GIG

It depends on the size of the song really. 1 GB = 1000 MB. A song, on average, is between 3-6 MB in size. That's between 167-333 songs on average.

quality and the length of the song. 57 "Stairway to Heaven"'s would prolly fill a gig, while 2,341 "I'm a Cucumber" by Brak would work...heh
