That is if there is a meaning behind it.. If there isn't, can you tell me what a person with such name would be called in the USA?

I suppose people from France or South Africa should know this.. I've been trying to find this out for some time now, but always without success, so any help is welcome. Thanx in advance.

The boy's name Etienne is pronounced eh-t'-YIN. It is of French origin. Variant of Stephen (Greek) "crown."

The American English version of Etienne is Steven.
