The document has 6 pages and I just want to keep the first page.

Open Acrobat, go to Document in the file menu, select "Extract pages" then you choose if you want to delete the other pages or just make it a separate file. If you just want to pull out the page, and leave the document intact, just put in the page numbers in the pop up box, and check off nothing, name it and save.

On one you probably have Adobe Acrobat rather than Reader. You can't edit files with Reader.

You need Acrobat the writer to edit/delete parts of an Adobe acrobat reader document.

You'd probably need adobe acrobat. It'll let you edit the file, and you can keep the first page. You can download the trial version free from their website.

Duh! Dude you are using Adobe Acrobat READER. Not EDITOR.
