I guess I'm talking about more of internal problems such as homeless, food, road repairs, etc.

Yes, the US government should be far more concerned with its own states and problems instead of being very concerned with the oil overseas. There are many poor people in the US, that the government is not paying enough attention too and this is really hurting the economy and this wiill also hurt the next person that will be president in this country after this president leaves office.

You sound like a Democrat, too bad that's not the Republican agenda. The govt. needs to cut back on how much it spends on aiding other countries and use the money on internal issues. Such as border patrol, education, health care, and social security. Globalization cuts our military too thin and we need to adress that issue too.

Makes you wonder doesn't it. It should indirectly helps states ieg allow trash heading for landfill to be taxed. Legalize pot if highly controlled and let them tax it. This is my biggest suggestion. Allow for the licensing of every fire arm user and registration of every firearm. What makes them different than cars. From import tax on goods from every country without minimum wage and some environmental protection directly reimburse states that have lost companies because of NAFTA with only proper accounting strings.

So...you want the government to solve the problems of the society that YOU live in. What are you doing to fight homelessness and hunger and improve roads? Do you volunteer to help feed anyone on the weekends, advocate for affordable housing for the homeless?
If you want the federal level of government to solve all the problems of society; wish in one hand and **** in the other and find out which one fills up faster.

Where's New Orleans now? Has it been rebuilt? We were told that the "war" in Iraq would pay for itself. Now, we've poured $309 billion into that "war" alone.
