I need to set up a wifi connection for a hotel. It needs to transmitt up to 600 meters. This will cover each small house within the hotel facinity. What spacific products do I need to buy (e.g. access point product and brand), and how much should this cost?

The hotel already has internet access. So basically i just need to get the right transmitter for the job.

Thanks

For real, the easiest thing would be to go to Best Buy and tell the workers what you're looking for, and since they're professionals they'll find exactly what you need and ring it up for you and you can pay and then you'll be good to go. I'm not lying.

The previous posting is true, But as a installer myself I use apple products which are expensive but work effortlessly. Apple extreme router and their apple express (which plugs into a wall outlet). Use the supplied software on a laptop( for judging signal strength) . Set up the extreme first with security settings then find the best signal/distance, plug in the express into the wall and using the configuring software you then join the network signal with security password (if you've programed it) and your done. You can extend as many times as you can afford. I have used linksys router and extenders but by far these are the easiest and I get a strong stable signal. Remember, you will have as a bonus on each device, a print server and a way to connect your itunes to a stereo. and you can use airport extreme with power over Ethernet and you will not need a power outlet, but that will require additional hardware. Good luck

PaulTech has the answer. The antenna for the AP can be a Cantenna. I would recommend that the access points be no further than 200' apart.

best idea to get the same model of access point as the router.
eg if its linksys get a linksys access point.
since its 600 meters thats a long distance u would need to install multi access points and repeaters to increase the signal.
or u would need to get access points with removeable ariels to add more powerfull arieals
