if you want, you can uninstall mcafee, here is a good link.
www.bleepingcomputer.com
if you uninstall this, you still need to get ONE antivirus, ONE firewall, spybot, adaware, and spyware blaster.
good luck.

Its very simple, I presume you want to remove it completley right? Well the best way to ensure a clean Removal is to First go to START>RUN>MSconfig and then click selective Startup and uncheck the boxes which say "Load Startup items" and "Process Win.com" Then on the top, should be a tab which says Services, Click then, look at the lower window which says "Hide Microsoft Services" When you hide them, new items will appear, click disable all then click apply, When you have done that uncheck hide Microsoft Services and then Click Apply again. Then go To start> shutdown and restart the computer.
When the computer is on again, go to Start>Control Panel > then in the side it should say somethin like this "view classic mode" Click that and then click Add/Remove Programs.
A new window should load up, Scrool down and Click everything that says Mcaffee, Click the button that says Remove, Follow the onscreen instruction per program removal and then restart after your done removing all the applications.,
After Restarting, Go back to Start>RUN>Msconfig and Click the button whcih says Normal Startup, Click apply and Restart and Thats it! You have successfuly Remove Mcafee from your system.
Now this means you dont have any protection from virus's. I would now recommond a Antivirus called AVG, its a Completley Free Antivirus program availble from www.download.com, Go there and type in the search AVG home editon, Make sure you download the AVG home editon, The professional editon is not free, but its sure as heck cheaper and better then Mcafee from Dell. ;)

To uninstall McAfee: Go to Start â Settings â Control Panel â Add/Remove Programs, select McAfee and press Remove. Then follow the instructions and you're done. :)
However, be sure to have another antivirus & firewall lined up before you uninstall McAfee. ZoneAlarm is a popular free firewall and ClamWin is a great free/libre antivirus application.
As far as spellchecking any input field on a webpage, just download the Google Toolbar. Also, automatic spellchecking will be included in the next version (version 2; due out in October) of the free Mozilla Firefox browser. It is much better (their motto is "Safer, Faster, Better, Firefox.") than Internet Explorer (the blue "e") and you should download it now, so it will automatically update to version 2 as soon it comes out.

You can uninstall mcafee but if you want it with out that messy pop up u have to go through the start up registry settings since u are a 53 year old new computer user u should mess with it.
I would tell u to uninstall McAfee and install Avast 4 home eddition which is a freeware and highly effective. You can find avast by just using your search bar.

right click the mcaffe icon in the systems tray (located at the bottom of your screen over by the time) and select to exit it...then go to the control panel, double click add/remove programs, locate mcaffe programs and select to remove them.
but, when connecting to the internet...u will want to have a "anti-virus, firewall, and anti-spyware program..."avast" is a good free anti-virus program, "zonealarm" is a good free firewall, and "adaware" and "windows defender" are good free anti-spyware programs.
