I got my GCSE results yesterday and observing other people reactions, it is obvious that how people react towards any kind of results depends entirely on what they were expecting/hoping for. She should be very proud of herself and I'm sure she would want you to put her out of her misery by letting her know. However, if you know she wanted higher grades I wouldn't spoil her holiday just yet.

'Good' grades, allowing someone to study at A-level, are A*-C grades. As all of her grades are at the upper end of this, it measn she can study whatever she wishes and will probably be in line for a top 10 university in 2 years.
She'll be very happy with those- if she isn't, explain she is in the top 5% of British teens, result-wise.

Not only are they fantastic results to be proud off, she should be so proud that her mother thinks so much of her to worry about upsetting her.

Wow, congratulations to your daughter. You all should be well chuffed. Ring her and let her know she'll have plenty more reason to celebrate other than just being on holiday. I know i would.....

As these were addressed to her - you should have had more respect for her than to open her mail, even if she did say you could.
:-(
8 A's and a B are excellent - give her my congrats.
