What should my cervix feel like at this point? It's farther back and not pointed down like it was before I became pregnant. If there was something wrong with anything (like incompetent cervix or something) would my OB have been able to detect it at my 20wk ultrasound? Do they always look at things like that stuff ? Thanks 1st pregnancy!!!!!!!!

It sounds perfect. I had incompetent cervix due to cancer in my last pregnancy. An incompetent cervix is soft and low. Very easy to feel with a finger. You are right where you need to be.

I'm surprised because I can't 'feel' my cervix and I honestly don't know if you should be poking around down there. Especially as the baby is putting more pressure on the cervix, its best to leave that to your doctor. You don't want to cause infection or disrupt any membranes. Your OB would be able to detect it, if you had brought it up with her/him. They don't normally check you vaginally at the U/S appointment. Call the doc/midwife and ask. That's the only way to know for sure!

There is no way you could know if your cervix is farther back and not pointed down by simply feeling a sensation.Yes the doc is able to detect these things during the vaginal exam

It's perfectly fine. During pregnancy the cervix rises and is generally soft.

You need to talk to your OB about this.
