Career now, family soon. I wish I could be a full-on career woman, but I don't make enough to support the whole family, and never will. My husband will have to be the bread-winner.

Family and then career. I think people who put career first shouldn't have kids.

Both - Pick a career that has some flexibility for you to have a family. teacher, landscape design, psychologist etc. Staying home is no longer an option for most of us - at least those of us that want to own a nice home, go on vacations and pay for our kiddies college.

They aren't mutually exclusive. You can have both. It's hard, and you have to make decisions that aren't always easy..but it can be done.
