Chess challenges your mind to think in ways you wouldn't in ordinary life. If you use the same thought process in other everyday events then it will definitely make things easier. Chess is great for improving the way you think.

Yes, but then again it depends on the person.

Chess is a stradegy game that makes you think. Along with, several video games, chess can make you a better problem solver if you take the game seriously.

Playing chess is mental exercises and all exercise is good for you, It keeps you fit and healthy.

i wouldn't say it makes you smarter, going to school, and reading books makes you smarter. it does however strengthen you re problem solving abilities, and makes you think. its an exercise for you re brain

we are not born with high IQs... they are built.

problem solving games as chess, will build brain cells that are used for just that...... structuring, planning, achieving, etc....
