Anyone with a old Aiwa hifi, notice that the CD jumps...?
(the cure for that is to turn power off, remove the lid and clean the Laser lens with a cotton bud and tape head cleaner fluid....)
Is this a common fault.?

Yeh, the CD players are always the first to go. They get a bit picky...and then play nothing!!

Had a nice midi system for years - (served me well until I bought proper separates & good speakers).

Aiwa is excellent value for money though & they sound MUCH better than Philips or Sony!!

i have an Awia Z1500 with a PX e850 turntable and they are 10 years old...had 1 prob where the cassette player heads needed changing(under warranty) now out of warranty now only 1 prob...the tray on 3 CD player sticks when it comes to being returned(a flick with the fingers fixes mine) it plays great and i have wired it to my CD player so when i watch a good war movie.i have all the explosions in the room the first time i did it watching Saving Private Ryan with my mate we ducked when shots were fired! superb sound...thanks Mr Spielberg and Awia..if i can ever afford it i will buy Awia again no hesitation whatsoever! stick with them. the service i have had from my Awia is a credit to them...and i hope it keeps going..

if there is not any jack plug on the ends the only thank you to ascertain is to connect the main distinctive deliver approximately - and the different to + on the speaker there possibly black and purple connection factors so keep in mind and attempt one speaker at a time do no longer turn it up. trial and mistake somewhat if it do no longer artwork then swop wires around
