Just got back from vacation and want to respond to the e-mails I've accumulated. In answering, I've received TWICE this week the notification that I have exceeded the "allowable" number of e-mails I can send out. WHAT is the "allowable" number and what is the time frame involved?

Many thanks for the clarification.

depends on the type of yahoo mail account you have. if it is a free account, there is a limit. you should ask yahoo via the help section when you log into your mail account.

the purpose of limiting the number of messages you can send out is to limit spam. even though you're not technically spamming, it appears to yahoo that you might be, and that's why the limit it.

hope this helps a bit!

I don't know what the allowable number is or what the time frame is that's involved, but I certainly can understand the reason for it.

If people were given unlimited space for emailing, people would rapidly take advantage of the situation to do commercial mailings. Also, it's not really fair to allow someone more space than another.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page under Terms of Service, this paragraph might answer your question.

You acknowledge that Yahoo! reserves the right to log off accounts that are inactive for an extended period of time.
