You will need a CD writer to do so. A CD writer is a hardware device, just like your CD ROM. Nowadays both of these already come combined. Check if your ROM is a writer too.

If it is or if you have a writer installed, then if :
1) You have Windows XP loaded :
Insert a blank or a writable CD in your CD drive. Then simply copy the required pictures and paste them in the CD drive folder in the My Computer folder. An option will appear in the common tasks tab on the left of the screen somewhat saying ' write these files to CD'. Click on it and follow the onscreen instructions to add the pictures to the CD.

2) You have some special writing softwares loaded ( Eg. NERO )
Insert a blank or a writable CD in your CD drive.See the help contents and follow the instructions to write/add pictures or files to the CD.

NOTE : Pictures once added cannot be deleted from the CD unless it is a rewritable CD.

You have a CD burner, right? You can drag the file and drop it into your CD drive, or if the file is open, do a save-as and save it into the CD drive. Then you have to burn it onto CD and that process can vary depending on what type of computer you have and the programs it has, usually a button that says to burn it.

On mine (Kodack Easyshare) there is a Burn to CD option. You just choose the images you want to add, and then it tells you what to do!
