I love hearing proposal stories, so I thought I'd ask all of you.

My fiance lives two and a half hours away. We see each other each weekend, one weekend I go and see her the next she me. Well it was my weekend to travel and I had just worked all day. Have to admit that I wasn't the prettiest looking fella when I arrived there. We sat by the sliding door and where having a general conversation and smoke. I had a pair of old blue jeans on that had rips on the knees. No shirt on as was warm, unshaved and looking pretty ragged. I don't know what the heck came over me but I looked at this woman and at that very moment with the sun hitting her eyes and hair just right she was indeed the most beautiful sight I had ever laid my eyes on. I got down on my knees and started to cry and told her of how much I loved her and asked her if she would indeed by my bride. She was a little shocked I think, probably had thought of a more romantic vision of proposal in her head, but she also started to cry and said that yes she would be honoured. Now I muct clarify something here. I think that she is the most beautiful and wonderful lady at all times but at just that moment she was everything. We met on-line over two and a half years ago and after chatting there for a long while she finally agreed to give me her phone number and real name, instead of her on-line alias. We met and sparks flew. Both having previous marriages behind us swore that we didn't want that again. But fate has a way of telling you when things are right. And I'm gonna brag a little here but fate was right and now at the tender age of 50 years young I am the happinest man on this planet and am more grateful daily for having been blessed by having this woman enter into my life. Sorry my story couldn't have been more romantic, like on a cruise ship or in Paris or something but that is the way it happened for me.

I was in Maui, drunk off my a$$, and called her....."So, we gettin married, or what??" She started laughing, and said yes. Of course, the marriage lasted a whole 7 1/2 years, but we have two beautiful children together. Moral of the story....if you have to be drunk to do something...maybe it ain't such a good idea.
