My wife's company has a outing out of town annually for a 4 day period. I do not approve of this type of outing and it has already created a major problem with my wife & I. She thinks that if she does not attend the outing that it will effect her annual bonus. I would like to know if I will have any grounds to sue the company if this causes a separation with my wife? As far as I know this is the only office out of about 50 offices world wide that has this kind of outing. Her office is made up of about twenty employees.

You should have a problem. People are human and even if she doesn't "plan" on cheating on you there is always the possibility. Unless you are very comfortable with her co-workers then I wouldn't let her go.

I know who my wife works with and I feel comfortable that she would never turn to any of them even in a time of need, so I wouldn't care. But if she works with mostly guys you can assume they are gonna hit on her, try to get her drunk or something like that. Cause guys are guys and women cheat JUST AS MUCH as guys.

Right this is a company outing, not a family outing. Is this possible that you don't trust your wife to be alone with her co-workers. I mean each company is different but usually outing and retreats for companies these days don't include the spouses.

Sue the company becuase of your insecurity...sounds like you are dreaming about that...well maybe now if a lady and drop hot coffee in her lap and get a pay out from mcdonalds i guess you could sue for your company breaking up your marriage for taking your wife away from you 4 day out of 361 days a year.

Well I don't know if you can sue or not but I do have to question why you are so upset about her leaving. You said it has caused problems....do you not trust her? I think it is good that she can get away and have time to herself. The more you make a big deal about it the more she is going to resent you for it. That is what is going to cause a divorce, not her company. I know of plenty of companies that have meeting in other places other than the home town. Are they saying that you CAN NOT come because that sounds crazy. They can't stop you from getting your own room and staying in that city. Maybe you should talk to HR about it and find out the truth.

Yes I think that this type of meeting is happening more and more. If the situation were reversed and you (the Husband) were the one that had to go out of town for a meeting, I believe you wouldn't have a problem with it. More and more women have jobs that require travel and business meetings out of town. They are expected to attend, the same as men. And yes, if she didn't go, it could affect her salary or promotional opportunities whether you believe it or not. No you could not sue the company. It is a problem you have with the idea. They are not the cause of the problem, you are.

What (or who) does she do for her annual bonus?

I personally would say great, go, have fun, you mean I have 4 days alone in the house, super!
