Your relationship wasn't strong enough for the two of you to agree to attempt to maintain the legal agreement of marriage, but you're now amicable enough to share the same roof after a divorce and a remarriage?
While on the one hand I find it commendable that the three of you can live in the same residence with civility (I'm assuming this, of course), I find it extremely unhealthy.
You and your ex chose to call it quits and should exist as such. Your presence in their home does not allow for a healthy relationship to ensue between your ex and his new wife... or between your 7 year old and the new step-mom. If you wanted the shelter, protection and friendship that goes along with what your ex is offering... then you should have maintained him as your husband.
If your ex offered you a place to stay in light of challenging times, I think that was very kind of him, and very tolerant of his new wife. On the other hand, I again say that, for your CHILD'S sake, you should find your feet as soon as possible and move on. For BOTH of your sakes.

Yes, it is completely weird and I suggest you save your pennies and get out of there. No good can come from that situation for long. You , your ex, and his new wife may get along now but things will change.

Yeah this is definately an awkward situation. Instead of living with them maybe you should try to move into your own place. People think its weird because it looks like a case of polygamy or something. Usually when people are ex-spouses its for a reason (maybe they don't want to be around eachother anymore). Who knows, live your dream.

It isn't totally unheard of, but it could be a bit confusing for the children. Your Ex has a good heart!
I would work toward getting out on your own, and getting on with life. However, if it works for everyone, then who am I to say?

WOw. OK most people who have kids together and then later break up can't be in the same room...much less live together. And most new wives don't let women their husbands have selpt with spend the night...Get it?
And this is why you are STILL single.

I'm surprised his wife is putting up with it.
If you all get along really well and are like best friends then it isn't weird... but it's rare that she wouldn't hate you.

First of all, Hey Cheese-it Boy....you're the fuc*ing hosebag, got it. And second, you really need to move out an establish a life of your own. Unless there is some unmentioned force thats keeping you from moving, you need to re-invent yourself.
