Your sound is not coming from speakers ...Otherwise, you would have disconnected the speakers to locate where it is coming from.

It is from the CPU (the case).

Open the case, start the computer and run it. You will see your fan is making all the racket.
Just replace. It is about $10.
Take the old one with you so that they can match it. Also find out what kind of processor you have. The fan design nowadays depends on the processor.

After you replace the fan, it will quiet as a mouse and purring like a cat. You will be so happy - you will wet your pants.

Hire a priest and do a cleansing ;)

Make sure nothing magnetic is near the speakers, make sure the speakers is in the Green port, Mute Mic audio by clickin on Volume Control in the Task bar, Options, Properties and Enable mic and make sure its lowered all the way down.

If this dosent work, you may have buggy drivers/Buggy sound controller, reinstall your audio drivers and see if that helps, if not go and buy a PCI sound card, their fairly cheap, 25 New, and 5 bucks used.

Try unplugging the speakers to see if it's a sound system problem. If not coming from the speakers, the noise is probably either a fan or a hard drive. You'll have to open up the case to determine where it's coming from.

Either get a new sound card or replace your computer completely.

Or

Get an Exorcist to perform exorcism on it.

If you want a straight answer I'm afraid you'll need to be more specific. What type of noise? Beeps, droning, crackling, high pitched whine?
