At the end of his presidency in 1988, Ronald Reagan (born February 6, 1911) was the oldest man ever to hold the office of the President of the United States. He was the oldest man elected, at the age of 69 when he was elected to his first term, and ended his presidency a few months before his 78th birthday

Hoover died at age 90, younger than Reagan or Ford.

Even John Adams, who came back as the 'elder stateman', lived to 'only' 91.

Ford might take the prize here.

Ronald Reagan was born in February of 1911 he was 93 when he died
Gerald Ford was born in July of 1913 he is 93 now. If he survives another 10 months he will be the oldest living former president. Historically the oldest living former President was Herbert Hoover who died just two months short of turning 91 years old.
