Lady Lovelace, whose title for most of her life was, The Right Honourable Augusta Ada, Countess of Lovelace, was Lord Byron's only established daughter-legally speaking he likely had another daughter with his wife's sister, whom Augusta was named after, before he married Annabella. He actually never even knew his daughter though, because he left England & was never allowed to see her again. If you cared to know. Anyways, she translated a memoir on Charles Babbage's proposed Analytical Engine, and in doing so she wrote up a set of very specific notes that detailed a method for calculating Bernoulli numbers using the Analytical Engine which is now known as the World's first computer program.
Skip ahead about 150 years to Dec. 10, 1980 which was her birthday & the US Defense Dept. approved the reference manual for its new computer progamming language, which was named "Ada" and was assigned the Military Defence Standard MIL-STD-1815 which was given the #s 1815 because it is the year she was born. Also Lovelace's image is on the Microsoft authenticity hologram stickers. Did ya know that? Interesting huh?So in much shorter note, she is most famous not for who her father was, but rather for her superior intellect which helped her design the first computer the world ever witnessed. Which I guess one could say led to .......which led to the portal of communication we are using at this very moment!

There are multiple women with the last name Lovelace, but you probably mean Ada, Countess of Lovelace. She was born in 1815, and is best known for documenting Charles Babbage's design for one of the first known computers. A computer programming language, Ada, is named after her.
