Amen! p gray. It is illegal. If i broke into a house it is illegal and i would go to jail. But yet these illegal immigrants get to take our jobs and it is because of those lowlifes our minimum wage is as minimum as it can get. I think if they do not have correct papers, first we should back charge them for social security # fraud and then ship their asses back to where they came from and send them the bill for the transportation

If the laws of America were fair, then maybe it would be unnecessary for people looking for a better way of life to lie in order to get it. I thought America was the great Melting Pot, but I guess it only melts if you are from European origins, because it seems like America is most interested in keeping those with any amount of melanin in their skin out (Mexicans, Haitians, Africans, Cubans, Middle Easterners, etc.) Look at the numbers. Do some research on the process and see how difficult it is. It's a good thing that many Europeans did not have to go through the process when they first laid eyes on the Statue of Liberty when they came here for a better way of life. America needs to give up the hypocrisies it lives on and become the true "Land of Opportunity" ir purports to be.

You are correct in saying that there is a legal and an illegal way to get here but have you stopped to consider that it costs money to get here the legal way? Many illegal immigrants came here by themselves to provide food and shelter for their loved ones back home. Although I don't condone it I can certainly empathize w/them. I met a very hardworking man(here legally) that has been trying for 10 yrs to get his wife and 2 daughters here legally and has had no luck. He is seriously considering bringing them illegally bcuz he's tried the legal way and they(govt) always find a reason to deny his family's papers. As for what I believe about this situation, I think many of them don't have any other choice but to come here illegally as a means to provide food and shelter for their families. What would YOU be willing to do to provide the same for your family?

Obey the laws of the land, well more than 75% of Americans are guilty then. You think it's wrong but you don't mind the low prices of certain things like produce and such right. You think that the person with HIV infected the whole US with HIV and STD's right, ever wonder why there's so many STD's going around, I doubt it's because of the illegals. Stop thinking the world revolves around America, if you think you're free, then keep agreeing with Bush and his Patriot Act.

Illegal immigration is the only thing keeping America's head above water in the ocean of world economy. You and every legal person living in the USA owes about $29,000.00 each because of the people you elected in government. Right, about 9 trillion dollars. Now here come these illegals who don't vote, owe next to nothing, and you don't want them in??? We need them a lot more than they need us for sure.

I totally agree. Especially with the Social Security number issue. I work in a payroll department in St. Louis and recently it was brought to my attention that 6 of our employees did not have proper ss#'s After investigating, we found out that they were working here illegally. They were our most hardworking best employees but I guess that doesn't matter if they are illegal. Let;s face it, if you can lie about who you are and who your identity is you are totally capable of lying about everything else. Technically it is identity theft because 2 of those employees had duplicate ss# to American citizens.

Whether your wrong or not is down to whether you think you are a person with compassion. These people are traveling to your country and to mine in the search for a better life for themselves and their families can you really blame them for that. One possible way to help stop this is for the richer nations (and there are many) to invest in the economic futures of their countries. No one leaves the country of their birth on a whim and if we actually done something to improve their well being both economically and medically it would probably cost us less than we spend on anti-immigration measures.

No, not really. I have nonething personal against illegal immigrants, but I'm a little frustrated that 100s of miles of boarder lines are unprotected in Mexico and Canada. And I can't take a Pepsi through airport security.

Illegal is illegal. Of course it's wrong and it doesn't matter if it's a Mexican, an Irishman, a Russian or Asian. This country is going broke and our children are going to be paying the bill...It's an absolute disgrace what this country has become.

Wrong. Think of the implications it has not only on the illegal immigrant as an individual, but for the economy of the country to which he/she has illegally emigrated!
