satin sheets are amazing!!!! but just a heads up,, don't buy the satin pillow cases to go with the sheets,, trust me on this one,, the first night I had mine the pillows keep sliding out from under my head and shooting off hte bed!!!!
I love silk sheets too,, they are more expensive but well worth it.
I think your wife will love the thoughtfulness of the gift!!!!
PS dont' get sappy colored ones like red , black or zebra stripes unless they match the bedroom decor,, just something pretty she will like. ( unless she likes red or black,, or,,) well you know what I am saying

Tacky. They are made out of polyester and they make you sweat; also, they do not launder well. You want something really nice in the way of sheets? Go to smartbargains.com and order some sheets that are "satteen" and have a 800 thread count or better. These are simply the best and sometimes you'll get a great bargain! The higher the thread count, the better the cotton fabric. We love them!

They are too slippery. You spend most of your time holding on and not to each other, well maybe to each other so they won't fall off the bed!!!! Why not put plastic wrap on the bed with some oil... now that is fun. A few things to note. Oil does not come out of your hair easy, go ahead and place the dish detergent in the shower prior, also you need covering for the floor to the bath room, oil can be a bit messy but WOW it sure is fun!! I bet that would surprise her.

Unless you want to climb in one side of the bed and slide right out the other, I'd advise against it. Back in the day (around our 5th Ann) my husband thought he'd surprise me too. It looked beautiful and he did the candles too, however, once we started, He slid off the bed and hit himself in the head on the corner of our glass end table. Three stiches later and the embarrassment of having the entire ER staff coming in to take a peak, it turned out to be a huge disaster. I can laugh at it now and every anniversary we joke about it, but if you want to surprise her, try something more practical. Fill up her bathtub with some great sea salt and bubbles, surround it with candles, and then have a trail of rose petals from the door she'll come in leading to the bathtub. Not only is it surprising, but she'll never forget that as long as she lives.
Kudos to you for being a man who still believes in romance.

I bought some for my man, he always wanted them, I'd go for the cheap set, don't spend a lot of money on them just in case she doesn't like it, I found some on sale. They are nice but VERY slippery LOL! It is a real chore to keep the bed made but it is fun so go for it! They make a difference in that they feel really good next to your skin and the colors they come in are usually really great!

sure, great idea. most women would fall in love with the idea that u did something special for her regardless of if she actually like the sheets are not. as for baby oil n snags, oil her u before getting to the bed n then do for what u know. the sheets are usually colder, which causes physical reactions which could bring benefits too. good luck n have fun

Satin sheets are great - but a lot of people I know say they are just too slippery.

Pros and cons of satin sheets.
Pros - slipper, silky and soft.
Cons - when it is time to actually sleep on them, it takes talent to keep the covers on you and your head on the pillow.
I think it is a real nice idea you have thought of and I am sure she will be very happy.
