Well if you just got your period this summer you should stick to pad for now. Wait until you get a lil older to use a tampon if you want to. But you should change your pad every 3-4 hours so you dont have a blood spot on the bak of your pants. It would be a lil embaressing if you do. But no they dont make any confy pads. Tampons dont really hurt once you get use to them. They may hurt the first time you use them but you have to change them regularly or you could get an infection.
--Good luck---

Hey I'm a 14-year-old Australian teen, and I've had my period for a year....
1) Tampons don't hurt, if and only if they are inserted properly, otherwise they will. I started using them a few months after I first started because my cycle became regular quickly so I could be spot on with the whole thing. The best type to try are Carefree Slims. Or you could try Libra... Look for any brand in "Slim", "Regular" or "Mini", but Carefree is the best... they have the cutest packaging and inside they also include an informative leaflet that will tell you all you need to know about inserting them. I use a lubricant jelly on the tip of one, it really helps when I want to put one in. You can buy these in a tube from the local chemist/drugstore, or possibly supermarket.
2) I've tried heaps of different brands of pads, and I've found that the best brand was Stayfree 'Freestyle'. This is the ONLY brand I buy for my pads, because a regular pad keeps me dry for 3 hours, on a heavy day.... and all day on a regular day! They are great and don't feel like a nappy between your legs.... And this is probably just me, but I prefer pads with wings to pads without any.
3) If you don't like them, then my second choice would be Libra Hearts Compact... they're really small, yet not as absorbent or comfortable as the Freestyle.
Well, hope this helps!

Tampons don't hurt, sometimes they can be uncomfortable if you aren't really flowing. I usually use tampons at the beginning and middle of my period. I find that during the last day they are uncomfortable. Tampax makes a compact version that fits in your pocket so they are good for taking to school or wherever. they also come in various absorbancies including teen I believe. Sometimes I like to use panty liners (really thin pads) while I am using tampons. It gives the extra protection just in case you don't get to the bathroom in time to change your tampon. My favorite pads to use are Stayfree Extra Thin Maxipads with the Heavy Protection. They are super thin compared to other pads and do the job just as well if not better.

Hi, tampons don't hurt unless you don't have it inserted correctly. I was scared for a long time to use them... but I used to swim so I had to get over the fear pretty quickly! Just buy the slim fits or junior fits, they are pretty small! I love tampons and could never go back to using a pad. Just a word of advice... always carry them with you because you never know when "Aunt Flow" might stop by for a suprise visit!! :)

its good that you have a good attitude towards your period cuz alot of girls dont, and its a blessing in alot of desguise. First of all, you have to put a stash of pads and pain reliever in your locker(at least 5 pads at all times) keep them in a small box like a crayon box to keep them from falling out of your locker in front of every body. keep 1 of r 2 pads in your purse in a hidden compartment. The best pads I've seen that are small and comfy are alays ultra thin. they are paper thin and get overnight so u can sit on it for hours. i wouldnt say stay away from tampons, but when you first start using them use a pad w/it. you will be all right, i would be surprised if u got a leak if u do a these things.

They do make slim tampons that aren't quite as big. Tampons don't usually hurt as long as you insert them correctly. If you want extra protection (if you don't trust a tampon alone) you can wear a panti liner too. As for pads, they come in a million different brands and shapes, scented and unscented. If you dont want bulky try some of the thinner ones, they work just as well.

1. Tampons don't hurt, but they may feel weird at first.
2. They make tampons in various sizes. You want "Slender" or "light days" size.
3. There are so many different pads, but do not count entirely on pads to take you all the way thru the school day, unless you plan on checking them freqently. They aren't meant to be worn all day.
4. You may be irregular at first, so always keep a new one tucked away in purse or backpack.
Glad you're happy about it.

They do in fact make tampons for smaller young ladies. The most comfortable for me have always been the OB tampons. I still do not like using tampons or pads, but the most comfortable of the pads has been Always ultra thin with wings. They absorb a decent amount and they are not bulky.
Good luck
PS Always keep a spare change of panties and pants in your locker!

Tampax makes Lite tampons that are really small and skinny. When you first use tampons, they're uncomfortable but your body will get used to them. Always thin pads keep you dry all day. They're aren't too uncomfortable. Just make sure you always have tampons, liners and pads on you in case of an emergency.

Tampons don't hurt. Actually once you get it in, you can't even feel it. I would wear a tampon before I put on one of those nasty pads! Yes, they make tampons for teens get the ones that say slims.
