Unfortunately Petal, you will NEVER know unless he finally tells you or someone else tells you (a friend of his)....

If he did sell his wedding ring, then I think that is sad. It may be just a band of gold, however, it signifies so much more - that was the ring you put on his finger when you promised to love and trust him forever. If he lost it, and scared to tell you, then that would totally be a different story.....

Try talking to him again and if that fails, you will just have to leave it alone and I would suggest buying him a new ring and crazy gluing it to his finger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If he's got a drinking problem he will always lie. He knows no other cos thats what drinkers do. They don't know the difference between truth and lie because there brains are pickled along with their liver.

If this is the case and he will never own up to it, ask him for a divorce. If he's an alcoholic leave him and let him drown his sorrows alone.

This kinda suggests a lack of trust and honesty in your marriage, that is probably more important to deal with than the missing wedding ring as relationships are built on things like trust, respect, honests etc. Think you need to talk and do some serious thinking and decision making.

Maybe he did, or maybe it got stolen when he was drunk somewhere?

My first husband died of alcohol abuse aged 41... I know where you're at... he sold many things to buy booze too... including rings, and sometimes, he just lost them whilst drunk.

You need to go to AA for partners and families of alcoholics... it didn't exist in my day, I only wish it had!

Or, like I did in the end... you need to leave, or, put him out the door, unless he accepts he is an alcoholic and gets serious help to quit.

I think you need to address your husbands drink problem. I'm really sorry if drink has driven him to this. It is a really evil thing if you don't have control over it. Why not ask him to attend an AA meeting with you.
