I have a router connectede to my main computer. My laptop is supposedly connected to the internet, but it does not go online. When I look at the 'Wireless Network Connection Status', it says that it is connected, the speed is 11 mpbs, and it has excellent signal strength. In the area of actvivity, it says that there are 1,787 packets sent, however, there are none recieved. At first, I thought there was a problem with my router, but 2 other notebooks were able to connect properly and access the internet without one problem. Can someone please let me know how to fix this problem?
Thanks..

go to start --> run --> type in "cmd" and hit enter --> in the new black window, type in "ipconfig /all" --> check the IP address for your wireless adapter. If it is sumthing like 169.172.xxx.xxx then you need to plug out your router from the wall wait 9 seconds and then plug it back in. See if that works... otherwise... leave a message after the beep. =)

Go back to your wireless status window and then click on the button called view wireless networks. Make sure your computer is connect to the wireless signal put out by your router.

Make sure that your wireless card properties are set to "obatain and IP automatically" and then go into your router settings and make sure that your DHCP is turned on and assigning IP's.
