We know what happened to DB Cooper. His real name was Richard McCoy. He tried the same thing again four months after the first time and got caught.
He was killed in a shootout with the FBI after he escaped from prison in 1974.

I think he died either after parachuting from the plane or in the wilderness. Much of the money was recovered so if DB did get out of the woods he was unable to come back or unable to find his cache of money.

According to the reports he jumped at about 32,000 feet. no oxygen assist and a standard t-9 canopy chute. my guess is that he probably blacked out from hypoxia in a matter of seconds then froze to death from the cold at altitude and then splat. plus he jumped over some of the most rugged country in the north west with out any food or water so if he did make it then the critters got him.

I think he died in the wilderness.

A large chunk of that money was recovered some 20 years later.

there was no such person, it was a name made up by the FBI to look for some idiot who jumped out of a jet way too high to survive and probably died on impact.

I think he's dead in the woods and someday his remains and money will be found. Makes for a good story.
