Because he's immature, he's controlling, but most of all, because you allow things to be this way.
Wasn't he like this when you married him? Did you expect him to change? When you marry someone, you accept their strengths and weaknesses.
But if he unexplainably and dramatically changed since your marriage to him, I would ask him what's up. He may be unhappy in a relationship, find out why.

sounds liek you married a child and need ot make him GROW UP Marriage is a 24 hr a day working relationship and COMMUNICATION IS KEY if he dont know that by know drop his **** and teach him the hard way !
