Oh dear! How great question!
Well, we have to study and understand the Greek philosophers, to reach the Truth!
Well, Zeus (Jupiter) was the protector of life! Ares (Mars) was the fighter!
Now let us look at our planetary system:
Zeus is a huge planet! Its gravitational field captures thousands per hour asteroids and other bodies.
What escapes from Zeus, is "hunted" down by Ares!
Further, if something escapes from those, our atmosphere takes care!
Seldom, some large bodies could escape and this changes life on Earth (possibly end of Dinosaur age!)!

First of all your assumptions and time tables are all wrong. The earth is hit just as often as anywhere else, but the timescale is hard for the human mind to wrap itself around. But just look look at the dinosaurs for example, and yet even the massiveness of that extinction level event did not extinguish all life and it re-evolved. We have big impacts all the time, but if considering the very small area of the earth covered by cities and the timescale correctly human civilization has only been around for a galactic second so it's no wonder no city has been hit yet and the evidence from the many impacts on earth gets covered up with erosion. And cosmic events have no confirming aspects at all to any divine, supernatural or cosmic heirarchy in fact they have a scientific natural astrophysical explanations.

The earth has an atmosphere which provides protection, most asteroids burn up before they reach earth. The chance of earth being hit by an asteroid big enough to destroy it is incredibly remote.
God also has a plan which He will not allow to be altered by any natural phenomena.

Well, bodies of mass create distortions in space/time (theory put forward by Einstein in 1915). This is actually "gravity" (the term "gravity well"). Because Earth is not as big as other planets, Earth does not create as much of a distortion. Newton tells us that a body in motion stays in motion, unless acted upon by an outside force. The Earth's gravity well is not enough of an outside force to act upon large astroids. Large astroids have so much momentum tht they are not affected as strongly, and their trajectories are not moved as much, by the Earth's gravity well.

We're pretty lucky in having Jupiter out there. Half the time it'll perturb the trajectory of things. Cool, huh?

Having an atmosphere does not prove the existence of God, I'm sorry.
Try again.

I am no expert to answer this but i think it may be because mankind exists only on earth and gradual creation may not be for total sudden destruction .

because earth has an atmosphere so all that hits burns away as it enters the earths atmosphere

I think that God is not ready for this planet to be destroyed, yet.Alot of people are throwing that 2012 out,b/c there is a prophecy of some people that are trying to interpret the bible for hidden signs.I think why search for hidden signs, when we should be actually READING the Bible.
