A sample pack of wet wipes, 2-3 diapers, travel size baby lotion, travel size Balmex, 2 ice packs surrounding her bottle of milk, alcohol wipes for her umbilical cord stump, soft baby brush, pacifier, an extra onesie, a few burp cloths/pads, baby hat and a picture of her with her full name and DOB written on it. I keep at least 3 blankets in the car so 2 stay in the car and one is used to wrap her in. I fit all this plus my things in a very small backpack to avoid a purse sliding off my shoulder while I'm trying to put baby in and out of her carseat.

If I'm just going out for a short trip, I just carry a big purse with a couple diapers, wipes, a cloth and a toy. But if I'm actually going somewhere where I need to bring along the whole diaper bag, here's what I pack:

* One diaper for every hour we'll be out
* A travel set of diaper wipes
* Travel size diaper cream
* A cloth diaper (useful for a burp cloth, changing table cover, etc.)
* A toy
* Nose sucker
* Plastic bag (in case of spit-up or blowout accidents)
* Change of clothes (usually just a onesie)
* A blanket if we're going to be out for several hours

I posted a link below for the bag that we use.

What we pack in it really depends on how long we're going to be gone and where we're going. Earlier this month we went out to Ohio for the National Rifle Championships. For our day on the range the bag carried some juice, some water (for her and I both), toys, bibs, a couple changes of clothes, diapers, the Aveeno baby sunscreen, wipes, desitin, some books and, of course, the baby's ear muffs.

For local running, we carry at least one change of clothes, a few toys to keep her occupied, her shot records, a couple diapers, wipes, bibs, formula, one or two extra bottles, lunch and/or supper (if we might be gone that long), bottled water, a face clothe or two and the only hats that she keeps on her head without a fight.

I have to empty out the bag every few trips and repack it. If I let it build up too long it's impossible to zipper shut.

We rarely go anywhere too far from home, so we pack only the basics--a handful of diapers, travel pack of wipes, a small tube of diaper cream, sippy cups and a snack. Both my boys are toddlers now (2 1/2 years and 13 months) so thankfully we have no more bottles, formula or binkies. YAY!

Heh heh heh...THAT'S a loaded question!

Well, we have 2 (yes two) diaper bags. A "mommy" bag and a "daddy" bag. Well, it started that way, but now we both fight for the way cool back-pack diaper bag!

Usually, there are diapers, change of clothes, "Safety First" medicine kit, baby wash, powder, diaper cream, wipes, extra shoes (he keeps losing them!), bibs, disposable "changing table pads" (for those not so clean rest room drop down tables!!!), suction bulb, doggy poo baggies (yep, got 'em in the pet department - they are bags on a roll and PERFECT for soiled diapers or clothes-including mine when we have an "accident" on Mommy!!), toys, bottles (when he was on formula), sippy cups (now that he's a "big boy"), sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks, extra cash, the check book and a six pack.

Ok, ok, I'm joking about the 6-pack, but it's a thought, no?????

Depending on where we go...one bottle and an extra drop in with formula, a water bottle, changing pad, wipes, 2 diapers, a toy, and his nuk. If we are going for a while I'll double what I bring and bring a change of clothes. We actually keep most things in the car: toys, books, always have extra diapers, wipes, a onsie, water. If you keep the car stocked up then you'll barely have anything in your diaper bag.

All the normal things you would need at home when you change your baby's diaper.

Obviously some spare diapers to start with, lotion or powder if you use that for your baby. A changing pad to lay your baby on when you have to change a diaper. Wet wipes for cleaning your baby in case you aren't near a restroom or some other source of soap and water to clean the baby with.

You should have spare diaper pins if you are using cloth diapers and maybe even carry some if you don't, for other things that may need pinned. You may need to pin the baby's pacifier to their clothing or something like that, or the snaps on his/her pants or something may not work any more and you need to pin things closed.

A spare pacifier, several bottles (formula, juice, water) for drinking and feeding the baby. If the baby is older then you need to carry baby food with you as well as burp cloths.

Possibly a light weight blanket, and for sure at least one change of clothing. You need to be prepared for most anything. You may even want to carry a spare blouse or something for yourself in case the baby spits up on you or wets/messes on your clothing.

Mostly just think of what you use at home for the baby and carry smaller sizes in the diaper bag. It should be sort of a portable nursery.

Good luck.

Hi I have always been accused of packing everything but the kitchen sink, but here it goes. I would pack diapers, diaper cream,extra pair of clothes, receiving blanket, change pad, bottles and jarred food if eating at the time, wipes, and tylenol and gripe water and a extra soother.

Change of clothes. Wipes, diapers, rash cream. Q-tips, baby tylenol, an extra plastic baggie, a few burp cloths, a thin blanket. And usually a tube of gloss and my wallet. Why carry a purse and a diaper bag?

I like to travel light so I don't have a diaper bag but I keep two diapers and a little zip lock baggie of wipes in my purse. Then I also keep a blanket and a change of clothes in a zip lock bag in my car just in case.
