Are the roads cleared away? You are reacting to what the media wants you to react to. Where are the insurance companies? What are they doing to help these people and get everything cleared away. Since when is the government responsible for cleaning up private property? You must have been raised somewhere other than America.
p.s. The national Guard is under the directorship of the Governor of the state not the president. Please direct your complaints to them.

Well, one reason Bush might not have put the National Guard in the Gulf Coast Region is because he has no direct control over them. It's a fairly under represented fact in this situation that only the governors of the states themselves have control over the National Guard. As for the "wasted landscape", that's due to bureaucratic red tape in local government and the fact that most of the people who fled Katrina still haven't gone back.
If you'd really like to throw blame around, why not get together with New Orleans' mayor Ray Nagan, who recently stated that while he may not have fixed an entire city in a year, there's been a hole in the ground in New York for almost five. Let's talk about sensitivity towards the American people. At least Bush is civil when he speaks on the issue.
As for the issue of the Border Patrol, I heartily agree that Bush is handling relations with Mexico completely incorrectly. However, he has somehow gotten it into his mind that his domestic "legacy" is going to be a North American economic union somewhat akin to the EU. As such, he is doing everything in his power to keep relations with Mexico as friendly as possible.
There at least Bush has the power to change his policies to benefit the American people. Thanks to a fundamental federalist slant to the US Constitution, the president can't do much to interfere in state and local affairs, so while Iraq can be dealt with with a simple phone call, the Gulf Coast is out of his reach.
I hope this helped to mitigate your justified frustration. Trust me, it is far more frustrating to be the leader of the free world and be incapable of fixing things at home.

Think of it this way, there's no oil to steal from there so why bother doing anything with it.
After Bush invaded Iraq, stole their oil, forced his beliefs down their throats and murdered thousands of innocents both there as well as our own and now that idiot is spending our hard earned money that we could and should be setting aside for our retirements now is going to restore a country that we never wanted to invade and destroy in the first place.
Now think about this for a moment, Bush and vice Bush have more money and no matter how hard they try they can not take it with them so why not spend their money to clean up Iraq and let us have the little bit we have? With all the money they all have they would never miss what it would cost to clean up after themselves anyway.
I think a lot of us were brought up that we all had to clean up every mess we made or no dinner until the mess was cleaned up, well does this just go for working folks?
My opinion and I'm darn proud of it too.

Just last week President Bush was in New Orleans along with the FEMA director trying to take care of some of the housing problems they're having. So many families are living in FEMA trailers & trying to keep their lives going normal for their children. When is the local government down there going to be held responsible for some of what's going on? What's Mayor Nagin doing to help people?

What are the natural resources in New Orleans? This regime only cares about natural reources in Third World countries that they can only exploit for their own greed. And that does not include most Americans, probably just a few neo cons and the uber rich.

they spent all of the money on the scammers afetr the storm. and the jerks that are still living off of the government.
Mayor White has stopped paying for evacuees utilities here in Houston finally. Houston received like 40 million dollars or something for helping these people, how in the heck does it cost that much to take care of people for a year?

I have to say for a long time i have thought that the bush administration is spending all of their resources on iraq. It never seems to me hes talking about our country. He's always talking about 'terror' and somehow or another linking it to iraq, while there are thousands of OUR OWN PEOPLE stuck homeless because of katrina. I mean COME ON!! Prioritize, what comes first, fighting in iraq for no apparent reason, of taking care of the people in the U.S.!!

You keep saying the government, YOUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT and STATE GOV are responsible for this disaster, they STOLE billions of federal dollars, where did it all go. ASK them for help. Do you see Mississippi whining like New Orleans, Houston Texas took in the most people and they are suffering greatly. 48 % increase in crime, 18% increase in murder, drug gangs fighting for territory..... Send money to Houston Texas instead they deserve it more. i hope New Orleans gets another hurricane and ends this misery for everyone.

It is a messed up situation and horrible. It is definitely a pure example of how the rich corporations are able to have their interests protected but the common man gets the shaft.
