"Dear Marko F, what you have is "seductive illusions of potency."
Just as interrogators are often seduced by a dark, empowering sense of dominance over victims, so their superiors, even at the highest level, can succumb to fantasies of torture as an all-powerful weapon.
There can be no question. To enjoy fantasies of torturing others, one must reduce the value of their possible victims to "objects" or "things."
A most significant understanding, or "epiphany," occurs when one begins to comprehend the final result of torturing fantasies. Attempts to "cover up" acting out as a condition of pathology in the fantasizer, can, and does, fool the casual observer. Those who share the "epiphany" and remain aloof can diminish thoughts and/or impulses away from sadistic behavior that leads to torture fantasies (they are a condition of behavior).

It really depends on the context of the fantasies. If they are sexual in nature, perhaps the person is just into S&M like millions of other people. Really, I think it depends on the severity of the torture thought about, coupled with the degree to which the person actually wants to participate in the behaviors fantasized.

This is not normal though process. How do you know they aren't psychopathic? The true term is antisocial personality disorder particularly if there is no remorse. People who enjoy thoughts or actions that involve torturing animals or other people with no remorse are antisocial.

You should try out S&M. It may satisfy your craving without actually causing and harm. I read a book that was very interesting on S&M. It's called "Kink: The Shocking Hidden Sex Lives of Americans". Great book. The Author's name is Susan Crain Bakos. It might help. Good luck.

Probably somewhere in the realms of FETISHES.

Don't worry - we've all been there at one point or another, If we claim we haven't, we're lying.

Case in point - how many here have SAID (but never acted upon) something along the lines of "Oh my god, I would KILL for that ________." or "What a ______, I just want to HIT her/him/it sometimes!"

It happens.

But if you're getting a sexual satisfaction out of it - it might be a fetish.

If there is NO sexual gratification, it sounds like you might just be dealing with repressed anger issues.

As long as you don't ACT upon them with a non consentual partner, there is no danger.

Fantasy is normal, but make sure you have your boundaries in line to avoid possible jail time and lawsuits.
