I watched to the end of season 4 (I think) where we find out she drowned in the ocean. Did they ever reveal what happened? I don't plan to watch the rest of the series, but I am curious how they explain this.

She was killed by her brother in law, whom she was having an affair with.
She stopped sleeping with him after she married Nate, and he didnt like it. She threatened to tell his wife, so he killed her.
You really should watch the rest of the seires. Season five is amazing, the final episode is one of the best ever. I must have watched the last 15 minutes a hundred times.

i dont think they ever said, but i vaugly remember them saying something or showing something about her in the last episode...but you should watch the rest of the series...the finale was the best finale of any show i have ever watched. they did a really good job of tying up all the loose ends...it left me cmpletely satisfied.

Her sister's husband was the culprit. They'd been having an affair.

As I recall, they never figured it out for sure, but they believed it was suicide. Nobody knows for sure!
