There should be 2 answers; Biblical (Adam & Eve) and evolution (Homo Sapien). I already know the third answer,.... all of them ;-)

All answers to this question are approximations based on models of human reproduction, rather than demographically based, because we lack reliable records of total populations before fairly recent times. One estimate suggests about 110 billion people.

Depends on if you mean homo sapiens or homo sapiens sapiens. But in any case, it's about 96 billion according to this guy
