Sounds like a repotting issue. If the roots are potbound, the plant will begin to die and will start at the tips. bamboo can also be overwatered and if potbound will start making unhealthy dirt. Be certain that your plant is in a container that allows the water to filter through and not stay in the pot. Rancid water in the botton of a plant container can cause alot of damage. Also examine the leaves for spider mites. Place a piece of white paper under the leaves and tap on the leaves. See if small mites fall off unto the paper. If so, treat for mites.
