That seems fine. You may want to try adding some rice cereal to her formula. It will keep her full a little while longer.

Perfectly normal my baby is 2 months last week and has been eating 10-12 ounces mostly at night before bedtime but she sleeps for 10 hours. My daughter currently weighs 10 lbs. maybe 10 1/2 by now. She's just a hungry girl, let her eat as much as she needs to. It'll be just fine. You can even ask your doctor too. Don't give her cereal, I was told not to do that cause it could upset their tummies. I know I checked into it cause I was concerned too. Mine likes to guzzle it down like theres no tomorrow and acts like I won't ever feed her again! :)

check with your pediatrician, but I do think that sometimes when she's eating she just wants to suck, which is very comforting to babies. Maybe a pacifier would help, and if she really just seem hungry, add a bit of rice cereal to the mix, make sure it is still runny enough to get through the bottle and see how she reacts to that. And definately don't forget the water, maybe in between feedings give some water instead of actual formula.
You really don't want her to find comfort in eating, and if she is gaining quite a bit of weight, you definately need to talk to her pediatrician. They've heard all the questions before, so there is never a dumb question you can ask, especially for new moms.

wow 8 or 9 oz. every 3 hours?? My daughter will be 3 months old on Sep. 7th, and she only drinks 4 oz. every 3 hours. Shes around 13 lbs. Her Doctor said that shes growing at a great rate and eating fine, not sure if your baby is drinking to much or not, best bet.. ask the doc!
You also might want to get a second job.. your going to be spending a fortune on formula! lol

Yes it's normal. Babies at the stage need lots of food. You can start feeding her baby cereal soon. Ask your pediatrician first before adding anything to her diet . All babies have a "high metabolism" because their bodies are working constantly. I used to but a little cereal in my babies bottle but pediatricians don't usually recommend doing that. Mix the cereal with her formula and feed it to her with a soft baby spoon and see if she can tolerate it. Depends on the baby on how soon they can start eating cereal and other baby foods. She's a growing girl so thats great.

Babies tend to go through growing spurts so this is probably normal. Do NOT give you baby cereal in her bottle..it is a chocking hazard! If you think she can handle cereal try it with a spoon. She might be a little young yet but all babies develop differently. Call your peditrition and get their advice.

That is fine. Its good your baby has a healthy appetite. A lot of people cant get their children to eat. My daughter ate almost 4 ounzes her first feeding right after she was born. She is 4 now and still drink a lot of milk. She is a healthy active little girl.

I have two kids one who is 3 and one who is 8 months and both of them probably ate about 6-8 ounces every 4 hours at that age so i would say that is fine. also our doctor always told us that babies know when they are full. so i wouldn't worry too much

My daughter was drinking full bottles at a week old so I think it depends on the baby. This doesn't sound that unusual to me. Mine was over 10 pounds at birth so that may have something to do with it. I'd ask your doctor if you are concerned. Otherwise, if she's hungry, feed her.

I started my baby on cereal after 2 months because he was drinking a lot of milk. I know the doctors say wait. Just a table spoon of rice cereal with their milk and it fills them up.
