I don't recall what black artist first aired on MTV. I recall they complained that there were no black artist on MTV. so they started playing black videos. Michael Jacksons Billie Jean was the first video to air on MTV and was played in heavy rotation, but he was not the first black artist to air a video on MTV.

Its goes something like that and the video is a guy walking down the street in daytime and I think theres a boombox somewhere, dont know name but Im sure this was first black artist featured on MTV. It was NOT micheal jackson people!

I was thinking it was "Billy Jean" by Michael Jackson.
"Billie Jean" (which was the first music video by a black artist to receive regular airplay on MTV), ....see, I told you.
