DEFINATELY, this is the goal of fear mongering (the bush administration's favorite tactic), to paint everything good vs. evil while avoiding the facts. Fear blinds you from the lies. How do you think the current administration convinced the public that invading Iraq was a good idea? They told us lies that Iraq was supporting terrorism and had wmd's(at the same time ashcroft was telling us with "great certainty backed by various intelligence sources" that we would be attacked in the coming months, on a greater level than 9/11). They successfully gained the public's support to attack a nation for what it might do, Iraq had not attacked us or out allies, a first in U.S. history.
When Bush told us our way of life was under fire by middle easterners who wanted to kill us just because we were american(when it reality the terrorists had politcal agendas), how could that not create racism and hate?

I don't think so. There are political issues involved. Some group loose patience and resort to arm struggle. More bitterness is created by use of excessive force. United Nations is the only institution which can sort out political issues. However, it is not in a position to enforce its decision.

Yes it contributes to it. It does not create it, but paranoia and all other fears are necessary ingredients for all forms of intolerance.

people swallow suggestion like an ice cream sundae ... part of the neocon philosophy is to get people to unite against a real or imagined enemy and then toss your agenda into the mix so its accepted on the premise that it will help fight the problem ... so govt propaganda instigating racism? i think so ... its the resounding question of who benefits.
